Pigs in a Puff

Our favourite frankfurters rolled in puff pastry, perfect for the kids' lunches.

1 packet of store bought frozen puff pastry

Flour for dusting

1 egg

8 Grandpa’s Frankfurters, cut in half

2 Tbsp yellow mustard

Thyme to season

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius. Cut the 8 frankfurters in half. Cut the frozen pastry sheets into 16 equal pieces large enough to wrap around the half frank.

Step 2

Spread a small amount of yellow mustard onto each piece of pastry and sprinkle with thyme. Lay the half piece of frankfurter on top. Brush the ends of the pastry with the egg. Roll up and seal the ends.

Step 3
Refrigerate for 15 minutes to help the pastry stick together.

Step 4

Remove from the refrigerator and prick the pastry with a fork. Brush the top with egg and place in the oven for approximately 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
